About the 2010 SYMPHONY SHOW HOUSE

Located on the east side of Lake Overholser, this “Mansion on the Lake” has so many elegant and unusual features that it can honestly be described as “breath-taking!"

The house was originally constructed in the mid-80s by the McCasland family. Mr. McCasland chose the site for its tremendous view of the lake.

The Lew McGinnis family, formerly of Tucson, acquired the house in the early 90s. At that time, the house was approximately 5,000 square feet. Shortly after purchasing the house, Mr. McGinnis increased its size to more than 16,000 square feet.

After the remodeling project, Mr. McGinnis engaged a local landscape designer for the exterior portion of the home. The incredible view of the lake required tremendous landscape design. In the back yard, with acres to work with, the designer constructed a moat, gazebo, waterfalls and walking trails, creating an outdoor paradise for both small and large gatherings.

With seven elegant bedrooms, including a master suite/sitting room, eleven bathrooms, an apartment suite, a gym and spa, plus a hidden chapel secured behind bookcase doors, the home’s spacious opulence is both beautiful and inspiring.

The McGinnises and their two daughters lived at the home while the girls were in school. During this period, as one might imagine, there were many gatherings and parties at the home. The daughters were very active in church and school activities. These many activities allowed the girls to host delightful, elaborate parties as well as small, intimate gatherings.

At this time, Mrs. McGinnis was the chairperson of volunteers and missionaries for the Oklahoma United Methodist Conference. The McGinnises hosted numerous missionaries and bishops from other countries at this country estate.

In 2008, with the girls attending college, the McGinnises relocated to a smaller home in Oklahoma City, the former residence of Edward L. Gaylord. Mr. and Mrs. McGinnis, real estate investors, continue to maintain ownership of the Overholser home.

Their family hopes that the beauty of this home, on a lovely country estate, will be shared and enjoyed by thousands of visitors to this magnificent 2010 Symphony House.
